Taffy

Taffy was rescued with her sister in Orange farm township. They were left behind to fend for themselves when their owner abandoned them. Both girls were very scared but taffy was terrified. She hadn’t had much human interaction and would run away or freeze with fear when you would approach her (she doesn’t snap though). She was clearly a traumatized little soul.

Taffys sister found an incredible forever home and taffy was put in to a great foster home who has really helped her settle and brought her out of her shell. She is learning to trust again.

Unfortunately taffys foster mom cannot keep her anymore as she is going out of the country. We urgently need to find a home for her before the 25th of March. We anticipate her taking a step back when leaving the foster home so PETS will provide a behaviorist to help work with the family in settling taffy in.

Taffy is not a difficult dog, she has just had a difficult start to life and needs to learn to trust again. She is a very loyal companion who will bring a family so much joy if they just give her a chance and are patient with her. She needs a calm and secure environment with someone who is willing to give her the attention she needs. She is excellent with other dogs. She has not been tested with cats. Taffy is a medium sized dog (around knee height) and she is around 1 year old. She is sterilised, vaccinated and microchipped.
