Birthdate 7th of September 2016

This is Bruno. A few months ago we found tied up outside our camp in the township. Abandoned in the middle of the night. We had no choice but to take him in.
He is a chocolate Labrador cross.
Since taking him in, he’s been in and out the vet receiving treatment for hemorrhage gastro, then he had TVT (a sexually transmitted form of cancer) and had to undergo chemo and then he had an obstruction in his abdomen. One Saturday, we brought him in to the vet for his final TVT treatment. While waiting to see the vet Bruno bonded with a lady sitting in the waiting room, Brenda. He had the saddest face and wasn’t feeling well and he just buried his head in her hands while we waited to see the vet. When our time came, he wouldn’t go through to the consult rooms unless Brenda walked him. They only knew eachother for a few minutes but already there was a special bond.
A few weeks aftesr that, we received a call from Brenda who had gotten our number from the vet. She hadn’t been able to get Bruno out her mind since that day and asked if he was ok and if he had a home yet. We explained he didn’t and although she’s not in a position to adopt (so please don’t comment and say she should), she did offer to foster him.
We are so grateful to her! Since being in foster care he’s blossomed into a happy boy. He’s not sick anymore and gone are his sad eyes.
His foster mom had this to say “Bruno is a soft natured dog with the most soulful eyes. All he craves is to be touched and hugged. He gets on well with other dogs, but at this stage he needs to eat separately as food is still a major priority in his life. He loves to go for walks and walks next to you on a lead. He is starting to learn to play and when you come home he is overjoyed to see you. He at first was a incredible escape artist but now is quite content to stay in one place. Once Bruno believes he has found his “Forever Home” he will be an amazing dog and companion”
Please help us by sharing his story so a wonderful forever home for him can be found.

Please note Bruno is a dog PETS are networking on behalf of our volunteer Glenda Pickering. We have covered all medical bills involved but Glenda is in charge of his homecheck and she will have the ultimate decision on his adoption.
